Hey hey all. I know it's been a long time. I'm pretty sure you can all understand that I haven't been filled with joy when you mention /Dev/Style and Mocca in 1 sentence.
Also the last few months I've been feeling extremely sick (hospitals don't know what to do with me) and work has been pretty insane too.
But things seem to be slowely settling down again and I actually feel that I want to start picking up a pencil again. With my upcoming holiday I might actually start to get back into things
6,5 years ago Daan started to draw a comic about 2 guys, a girl and
a little bunny living together under one roof. The comic got alot of
attention and thousands of readers came back every day hoping to find a
new comic page up on the website. The comic characters were based on
real life people and the same goes for the little bunny.
On Monday the 19th of january Mocca, the little bunny, was put to sleep after being diagosed with cancer.
well... to keep a really long story short, mon's parents are over from New Zealand, Daniel is being a retard and Mon won't let me out of the cage. She doesn't know i sneak out at night to play on the nintendo wii!

Right, Daniel and his co-worker teh Kevmeister have been putting together a game for x-mas and you guys should go check it out!
It doesn't have me in it (f'ing retards) but it's got pinguins! So go check it out!
Hopefully Daniel can get his butt into gear again and draw some more of those cool comics with me in it... and leave the rest of the crew out of it
The new design for the site is looking good so far, hopefully I'll be able to launch it within 2 weeks or so. Depending at how busy I get at work too... ofcourse...
The new design is badly needed, alot of gold ebay sellers are trying to make a buck out of /Dev/Style. So the whole comment section is filled with chinese bullshit, them trying to claim this site as theirs and spamming their site address.
I'll be getting back into things in the next couple of days. After the big number 100, I thought it was a good time to take a little break. Specially with work being so crazy and visa with Monique not really speeding up I really needed to sit down and breath a little...
What will I be doing these next few days?
Well...
Working on a new design, rethinking the size of the pages so I can get them printed next time and hopefully get some nice little story lines sorted which can make people giggle a little...
Righty... I've been sick for quite a while, I actually haven't given my body any rest. Not to mention my work is draining me pretty badly. So that's mainly been my reasons for not working on comics as much and fast as I wanted too.
I am really sorry about the lack of updates these last few weeks but I'm just to drained to come up with anything really exciting.
I can't state enough that I'll try to keep it up but how things are working out now, it might stay a littl slow for a few more weeks. Work seriously wins this round.

Teh Daan has arrived back savely in Holland! I've started working on the new comic pages again so expect to see a new one soon!
Thanks to everybody for showing their support and sending me emails the last few weeks about killing me and needing to hurry up with putting new pages online, you've all did a great job in motivating me.
hopefully I'll be able to find some time to set up a new look and feel for the devstyle comic page. This one has just been around for to long

Sorry for taking longer then 7 days to update the comic but due to work, server changes at work and an upcoming vacation I've been kinda occupied.
We've been working on a new thing at work and the bosses have gone nuts with trying to selling it to other companies for big monies, only problem is... it has to be done quick, clean and good... but my upcoming vacation is making it all a bit stressful.
What can we say about this week... well... IT HAS BEEN UTTER SHITE! Lot
of work, lot of extra jobs.... sore neck, sore arms, sore back, tired
and grumpy. Late with comics and ... I finally know when I'm hitting

Quick note, works been crazy. Seems we're up for E-commerce site of the
year in Holland which I find hillarious as everybody at work always
tell me how much our site reeks.
I know everybody has been wondering "who the fuck are these 2?". Well... I'll tell yah
A while back I got asked on the World of Warcraft forum to draw a comic
about the characters in the game. Most of you already know I'm already
struggling as it is.
So once in a while I'm going to try and draw characters from the game, people I play with. This week Velze and Shion.
Velze is a druid, he likes to walk around in his cat form and purr and
cuddle everybody ingame. The bird on his head is his ingame wife Shion,
a human rogue. So why the pink bird? Well... Druids armor is called
Wildheart and the headpiece is a pink dead bird.

Also got some bad news for all of you...
My work computer 'blew up' yesterday, lost all the stuff I've been
working on for the last 2 years. Means I'm gonna have to work harder
and means a little less drawing : \
So going to try and keep up, but don't expect much this week... I know it reeks, sorry guys :(

Lorn is Terry, a guy I use to hack codes with for codejunkies/gameshark... The
guy we joke around 'with' every single day, which has is now
almost 7 years I believe. Andariel (a shaman friend) can 2 hit 'm and he doesn't like us joking about it.
Gralan is Mike, we call 'm mister IKEA. He's got some high function
within the company and gets Monique all excited about new IKEA stuff on
a daily base.
IKEA IS NOT MY FRIEND, it hurts my wallet!
And yeah, they are in my guild... and they play the best class the game has to offer... So time to poke some fun of them.

These last 2 weeks have been an utter pain in the ass again, so sorry for being late again.
Monique's papers still haven't gone through for her Visa. This has been
a bleh 2 weeks again of running around and wasting alot of money again
on documents (they are still not in).
So now we've got to wait another couple of months before we hear back
on if Monique is allowed her visa or not. Stupid thing is, by then
we'll be probably flying off again to New Zealand for her brothers
wedding.
hehe... idiots.
Also my knee is busted again. I've been working really hard to get back
on track and that's why there haven't really been to many comic
updates. But by the look of things, I'm gonna have to take it easier
again... so probably getting back on track with the comic.
I did have a comic script sorted for today and was gonna work on it, you might have to wait a day or 2 now... sadly :(
Google released a brand new tool which is quite interesting. It's called blogsearch and ... well... it searches blogs.
So I put it to a test run and searched for the comic and found a post by Christian Tapp.
"Devstyle is mainly about a demented house rabbit. From what I understand of most house rabbits this is the norm apart from a select few. Ninjas, psychopaths and the usual webcomic pantheon of situations appear here. This does not make it a bad comic by any means, the style of the art and the speech that goes with it are definately one of its redeeming features. The authour/artist also gives b/w images for people to have a go at colouring or whatever, the best images back are often shown upon the site. Has a lot of links with other webcomics that I have given links for (hence how I found them), which give a shared culture of sorts within them. Have a look."

We were watching the movie "Jay and Silent Bob strike back" again last
week and I couldn't stop laughing. The best bit was that afterwards,
they showed a seminar style like tv show with Kevin Smith. Explaining
about his work, his ideas and how he met his wife.

I busted my leg up pretty badly to tell you the truth. I went to
training on tuesday and in a little game we were playing my leg decided
to stretch out and the rest of my body wanted to go the other way.
If I put my arm next to my knee then it'll look about the same size as the injured knee.
Sounds like fun aye?
So eventho I have time to draw and stuff, there is no scanner and no tablet here so I can't really do much.
No comic? Yuppers... just not been able to do much this week. Tuesday
and thursday is soccer day. Wednesday was going to the zoo with parents
and sister day. friday, saturday and sunday is trainings camp with
soccer.
So can't do much this week, sadly... Altho I do hope you all enjoy this
weeks little filler. I still have this idea for a new wallpaper with
everybody on it. This was just a little idea.
Most of you know I enjoy playing my little game of World of Warcraft.
Then there are a few of those who play in a little Devstyle guild with
me and one of them is Michael. He's the youngest member in our guild
and plays a pally with his dad.
He told me yesterday how much he liked the comic so I asked 'm to draw
Mocca for me. He had the drawing done within a couple of minutes... My
hero
So here is Mocca with a demonslayer sword and has just chopped off a zombies head!

I know, I'm making myself look like an idiot again but something
actually came up that it simply more important then making a comic.
The last couple of weeks we've been trying to get Monique's visa sorted and the folks over at the IND
have put her visa request on hold. Due to not having our 'documents'
sorted. So they gave her 2 weeks to get her documents together...
Now this isn't the first time we've applied (think this is the fourth
time) but this is however the first time that they've acted like a
bunch of idiots.
So I hope you can understand the situation a little...
Instead I did finish the coloring job and turned it into a wallpaper for you all to enjoy. If there is a size you'd like to see added, then drop me a line and I'll get straight on it.
Little comic this week, nothing special... just thought it would be a nice way to show you who the ninja was.
Anyways...
Next Saturday and Sunday I'll be off on a trip to Luxembourg with my
old soccer buddies. We'll be leaving in the early hours of the morning
on Saturday and I should be back Sunday evening, so hopefully I'll
still be able to get something sorted for sunday.
Also the wednesday after that I need to have my sketch in for sketchbattle.com, hope I can brew up something cool for my match against Max. I'll keep you guys up to date on how things go...

you did an excellent job. Totally different coloring style then what I
normally get in and still keep it in the style of his own 'creepy'
comic called Bumelant.com.
The coming days are gonna be a bit of a struggle for me as we've
planned to put the sites I've been working on online. Due to that I
hope you can understand that there is a big possibility of not having a
strip done by wednesday. It mainly just depends on the 2 upcoming days.
I'm really glad you've all been hanging around these last couple of
weeks eventho I have been putting the comic on the
not-so-very-important-things to do list. Last couple of weeks has just
been blahargh. Work has just been really taking up most of my time,
even when I'm not at the office. I just needed a well earned break
which got me even more into World of Warcraft then I already was. So to
those who have been killing me these last couple of days, thanks a
bunch... It has been a blast.
But hopefully I'll be ableto get back on track and be able to pick up
with the comic where I've left off. With hopefully a comic and a
drawing/fanart/sketch/wallpaper each week.

I'm not feeling the greatest, haven't been for a couple of days. So
promised, comic next sunday. Sketches are already done... Just feel
I should be sitting till around 11 o'clock stressing to get the page
done on time.
Kinda glad the pressure is a little off this week... The site I've been
working on seems to be almost finished and the main things we need to
do for it seem to be littme images & stylsheets from my end and
data from the rest of the guys.

I know I planned some fancy drawings this last week but work is getting

medium is) yet, it's helpful to be able to study things like that.

So why Dan? Well... I decided about 2 weeks ago to get back to an old
idea I had to put a comic portal site together. I've had the domainname

for a long time now and it was just collecting dust. So this weekend I
started working on a template and putting the site together. Also Slim
took the time to steal the template off me and use it for his own
little nintendo project. The asshole

A dutch comicon that is coming up
I'm experimenting with the nose, I have to say I don't like the bottom
area that much but I do like it from the jacket up. It's just an
opinion....
2 nose holes now instead of just a line, which I just had to see for
myself what it looked like. Along with the shade lines ontop of the
nose which most of you would probably not like at all... hehe... this
drawing is just to try some new stuff out.
I got the pose from another drawing, it's just to test myself into trying to figure out how my characters should move.
Also reading again how paranoid people can become when it comes down to
having an own comic character and spotting a same name somewhere else.

There is currently a list being put together for a dutch and flemish
cartoon and comic award. /Dev/Style is listed and hopefully I'll get
through to atleast to the next round.

About to pack for the trip back to holland, so don't expect an actual

Due to the work schedule I'm moving my comic updates from wednesday to
sunday to create more time for myself. This however does create more
room for pinups, sketches, colabs, ect for the wednesday.

I wasn't really able to draw anything last wednesday I decided to color
a a drawing by one of my fav artists and moved the actual comic planned

There isn't a comic out yet and you just have to do it with this kick ass drawing made by Sam-M from Satellitesoda.com. I envy this guy, he just has a totally kick ass streetart comic style. The drawing is fanart he did for Edel.
The comic should be done by sunday, I just can't seem to draw things
how I want them to, so instead of giving you a crappy comic, you can
look at a crappy colored but still totally kick ass drawing.

I met a guy sometime ago who was an excellent colorist and took the
time to draw me some amazing fanart and colored some of my drawings.
Then to realise Kimmo also did a comic called nopoint.
He always seemed to have trouble with updating and he was always to busy drawing other stuff, so now he quit drawing it and I'm actually feeling kinda sad about it.
Hope you can find some joy in it again later on Kimmo, it was simple but funny. Just don't forget to keep drawing tho as you are an amazing artist.
About 2 weeks ago I saw World of Warcraft in the store and I wasn't
sure about getting it. Both Mon and me decided to put the box back and
see what other people (the experts) would say about the game.
The feedback we got kinda left me in the dark really, so after x-mas we decided to get a copy and so far it's been a blast.
I'm really enjoying the character designs and the detail that comes
with the game. I've started playing with a hunter, a bow type character
that can train pets and help them out on their journey.
The quest have been done in a really cool way. I've been an Asheron's
Call player for the last several years and when you started a quest,
you seriously needed to finish it... well... with this you start on it,
if you think you aren't in the mood to finish it then you can just go
and do something else and come back to the quest another time.
The only thing that's totaally different from AC is the character
design, it's less envolving. In Asheron's Call you'd be puzzling for
days to get a template sorted you were really keen on and would give
you a better playable character in the end. In WoW it's mainly just
meeting skill and level requirements and having plenty of bling bling
to buy the new skills you want to use.
But yeah, I'm really pleased with the graphics and the playabilty so
far. I'm not gonna tell you all to go out and buy it but I am however
going to tell you to atleast give it a try if you can get your hands on
a copy and are into MMORPG's.

Happy Christmas everyone, to make sure no-one goes hungry over the weekend here's a nice recipe for bunny stew
Ingredients
Ingredients (Serves 4)
500g Alternative Meats Diced Rabbit
1 tablespoon wine vinegar
25g seasoned flour
2 teaspoons brown sugar
75g Maynards Smoked Bacon
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons oil
Freshly ground black pepper
2 onions, peeled and cut into wedges
2 carrots, peeled and sliced
˝ pint of Pale Ale or to suit
2 slices bread, crusts removed
Ľ pint of beef stock
2 eggs, beaten
1 tablespoon French Mustard
2 tablespoons milk
100g button mushrooms, trimmed and halved
Chopped parsley to garnish
Method
Heat
the oil in a pan and fry the pieces of rabbit and bacon until well
browned, then transfer to a casserole. Fry the onions in the same oil
until lightly browned, the sprinkle with any remaining seasoned flour.
Gradually add the ale and stock and bring to the boil. Stir in the
mustard, vinegar, sugar, and salt and pepper. Add the carrots and pour
over the rabbit.
Cover and cook in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C, Gas Mark 4 for about 1˝ hours.
Cut
the bread into squares or triangles, and dip it into the beaten egg.
Increase the oven temperature by 20 degrees C or to Gas Mark 6. Remove
the lid from the casserole, gently stir and taste for seasoning, then
add the mushrooms. Lay the egg-soaked bread on top of the casserole and
return the oven uncovered for about 30 minutes until crisp and lightly
browned. Serve sprinkled with chopped parsley.
You download it, let google check your computer and when you are looking for a file, google will be able to tell you where it is. Atleast that's how I think it works...
We had a little conversation about it at work when it got released,
Kevin thought it was a pretty good idea and I didn't like the idea of
allowing a third party to actually keep track of your info. Well...
here it comes, there is a leak.
Researchers over at the Rice university in Texas claim to have found a
leak that allows you to see what people have been searching. Some code
on a site would give away the info. Atleast that's what I'm
understanding out of this dutch news post on nu.nl
Even if they fix this, I'm still having problems with actually
understanding what the pros are of this service. It just seems like a
different approach of spyware....

Went over to my parents yesterday, and there was a letter from my bank
waiting for me. The Dutch Chamber of Commerce had taken all my moneys,
my pretty little moneys away from me, ALL 1600 EUROS I HAD IN THERE.
Reason: I did not pay one of my bills.

Alrighty, start of an adventure again Thought it was about that time
again. So not really supose to be extremely funny, just a simple
start really.
And finally had some time to take a look at my rss feed, for some reason I couldn't get it to work with firefox's
live-boomark. And I found it shocking to know there are more people
browsing the comic site with firefox (41%) then internet explorer
(35%), last week things were still quite even. Good to see people want
to 'rediscover the web'. Here is another reason why... ghehe
Devstyle has been growing quite fast and I really want to thank
everybody for helping out in this. The comic has been around now for
more then a year and I'm kind of getting fed up with the look of the
site.
One of the main ideas I had was a little something for all of you to
win personal drawings by placing one of the banners on your site with a
code so I can see where it is placed. Could be really neat for those in
need of a filler or for those who just want a personal drawing.
Also want to thank Alex for reading my rants, mr. Gashaponshop. Don't forget to check out the book he's selling (Alex, I'm gonna buy that book from you very soon). On that note, I think Madsen over at little-gamers still has a couple of copies left so better order one aswell. And you better keep one of those plushies spare for Mon you hear!
Anyways, we've changed the chat channel to irc.deviantart.net and the
room is called #devstyle. We've tried several different servers and if
I had to pick one then I wouldn't really know why, what and where... so
I went with the name. I think if you want to talk about comics and art
then what better way then to do it on an irc channel on the best art community on the web.

Also got 2 emails send to me today. One was a standard "want to exchange a link"
email. Normally I don't exhange banners and stuff, the ones you see on
the side of the page are people that I look up to and motivate me to
draw or are really close friends.
The plan was that I would be working on a new design and have a link
page build for people to add their own banner but.... just haven't had
the time to actually start working on it. So for the time being, I'm
not gonna add anymore banners as there is simply no space for it.

I started working again yesterday and I've got to say that it was quite
nice. Nobody bothering me about changes on the site or new ideas that
needed to be put together asap. Just able to sit down and go through
the files I needed to change. Playing your very own music instead of
having a channel on that plays the same old classics every freaking
hour.
Also fiddled around with the laptop a little more. I think I've got all
the files pumped over savely. God I love this sniney widescreen.

Couple of years ago it was actually fast fast but for some reason this
whole bit of Auckland has a slow internet connection as they can't
pinpoint where the freaking problem is. *sigh*
This is supose to be an ADSL connection with a download speed 512kb,
right? Well... It takes about freaking 2 hours to download a 14MB WoW
file and then I'm hugging up all the rest of the bandwidth that nobody
else in the house is able to open a simple none-graphical website.

Well... Let me finish off with a smile. One of the best pages on applegeeks I've seen .... ever. I just like it, maybe because it is a pretty obvious page for the story and comic Hawk and Ananth have put together. Much respect to them...

Time goes quick, first week has almost passed and I've tried not to do
anything at all work related. However... I thought I better go check my
mail and actually found my co-workers already being pretty demanding.
Did 2 of the things they wanted me to do, did take me a bit of time...
just want them to realise that I'm gonna do the same to them when
they're gone on their holiday.... ghehe
So that got me reading into some reviews and WoW actually scores some
great points. Madsen however told me to try FF but he did mention that
not many people from europe are playing and that's the same problem I'm
having with Asheron's Call. I wanna go on quest and grow in levels but
I need other people for that. I'm a loner up to a certain degree.

Gave mocca some new food this morning and she was looking at me like
"Who the fuck are you and why are you touching my food bowl".
I had to destract her with a candy to be able to grab the food bowl,

Well... I left my house at about 9 today. Bought myself some yummy shit

didn't go straight to Schiphol and we had to take another route.
Through fucking Amsterdam and even worse... past the fucking 020
stadium. What better way to start of your trip then visiting the place
you don't want to be found when your dead.
Airport went pretty smoothly as after a couple of times you actually
start to find the way there pretty easily.Got in the plane and BANG...
an hour delay, some fuckface thought it was funny to not tag along on
the flight eventho his crap was already on the plane.... OH! And my old
class mate Michael was on the same plane, he was going to Bali... lucky
bastard!
Movies weren't to bad, saw 2 which I've been keen on seeing and saw SNATCH again...
So just landed in hong-kong and exchange some of my cash to be able to
buy some buggers. I exchanged 20 euro for 190 HK dollars. The icecream
out here is 12 HK Dollars, you do the math... ghehehe
Yummy yummy yummy I've got ... gheheYay, another bloody 12 hours to
wait before I can fly off! Expect some more updates from here as I'm
probably gonna be bored out of my freaking skull!

is turning 4 on the first of December so I promised to do a comic for
him. He returned the fav when he heard about me flying off to New
Zealand next week.
So mamanged to finish his but I'll put it after he posted the one I did for him... Not to spoil the fun.
Altho I have to say that he's a pretty cool guy and really want to
thank him for helping me out. I really really really appriciate it!

I got challenged yesterday by my boss and co-workers for an evening of
button bashing. Just couldn't let the opportunity go to waste. So after
work, got 2 new cube controllers, got my cube and went down to my boss'
house.
Don't ask how but the dirty old men were keen taking on the young gods
and I can tell you that they have been regretting that for the entire
evening.
First game we actually lost with Fifa, due to 2 corners. Match
statistics were 2 shots for them and 50 for us... bah, that's the only
game I lost really. After that it was 5-0 to us at half time and the old men wanted to play something else...
NHL Blitz, plain and simple... 2 games and both won with about 15-0. So
the grumpy old men wanted to swap the teams around a little cause they
just thought it wasn't fair. So won another one with 13-1 I think....
Mario Kart is always a blast but I did expect Kevin a little bit better... Didn't lose a single race ofcourse...
And then Naruto... Told Kevin about the series and the game and he
never really seemed interested untill last night. "WHOA....DAMN!". Can't wait till I get back from NZ and play the third Naruto game.

Also MSN released a web version of their messenger and they actually
made it work for IE5.0+, Netscape 7.0+ and Mozilla 1.6+. That's a
first, basicly all M$ site or related software doesn't work with
anything else besides IE.
Also Bill seems to get about 4 million spam emails a day... ghehe Would be tough actually finding something that is usefull

Time for me to start sueing artists like Hawk and John Allison because they make the rest of us artists look 'bad'... Sounds pathetic but as you all know, everything is possible in america. Read the article here about Pixar getting sued for making movies that are just to good.
Also people been asking me for a /Dev/Style chat room, it sounds nice
but I've got one problem with IRC rooms, not everybody knows how to use
it so I'll have to try and figure something out for that. In the
meantime I've had a lookie at Deviantart
one, the only downside is that you need to register an account but that
shouldn't be a bad thing as the art over there is AMAZING!

I survived the shopping spree ghehe You'll read about it in this week's comic
After a very fucking long wait, I finally bought Half-life 2 yesterday.
And I have to tell you, it was worth the wait, and the 60 euros it cost
me.
It took me about one and a half hour to be able to activate my game,
since all Steam servers were overloaded due to the rest of the world
also trying to activate ghehe.
After activation it was eyecandy galore ghehe About every 5 minutes of
playing I issued at least one "WHOA" because of the pretty graphics and
one or two times because I was shot from somewhere unexpected.
I play the game on my laptop which is a 3 Ghz/512Mb ram with a nice
Radeon 9600 with 64 Mb ram. All the graphics settingswere on medium and
still it blew away Doom 3 , which I ran at high settings. I should
try this game on my normal computer which is a bit better (Athlon
3000+/1Gb ram + nVidia FX5600/256Mb) But I haven't used it since we
moved to our current flat, I really need to buy a cabinet or something
to put that thing in. But being the lazy ass mofo that I am, the
cabinet probably won't be there till I'm 30
2 more weeks to go before going to NZ. Can't wait to go, the stress at work has slowely been killing me. Anyways...

I'm actually not nervous about the food, as long as I don't stick some

agreed to go shopping with her before dinner *lol* Deaddays on Deviantart has made a series of comics about that: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Hehe at first they made me laugh, now they make me cower in a dark corner *lol*

Time for me to finally pop my head around the corner

Playing around with this editing thingy Dan put in here, and it's actually kinda shite
Have a look at Gashapon Shop,
don't expect a brightly coloured comic, but a cool black and white
webcomic about a hobby shop crammed with games, manga and merchandise.
It took me about 5 minutes to fall in love with this comic

I just feel the need to share what I do at work: I run a moderate
server park (about 400 servers) with a few colleagues. Somehow I keep
being referred to as the mastermind behind everyting there, don't ask
me why, I just try to keep things running ghehe
To quote one of my favorite ending lines of a rant:

some things around and worked a bit on the blogger system I build for
this thingy.
The comments have been put on a seperate page as I thought it was getting a bit messy.
I decided to put up my little blogger page so all of you can read
my(not-so) daily rants, specially with me going overseas and all in a
couple of weeks.
Well... first things first, as some of you may have noticed I've put
up a banner at the top/bottom of the site (not sure where to put it as
it is fucking big) to help out some fellow comic-geeks. Some cool webcomics in there so go check them out! Also a couple of
guys who I got to know through deviantart have started up their little
community, called satellitesoda.com
Also kinda stuck on this weeks comic, art-wise... Been playing
around with the looks of the characters and I just can't seem to nail
it down for some reason. Still have till tomorrow evening so hopefully
things will be sorted by then. Latest update on this weeks comic is....

Also Been getting into blogshares.com a little, it's a fun little game where you buy/sell shares in blogs.
